DRIVING CONTROL METHOD FOR ELECTRICAL SHORT IN MOTOR OF MOTOR DRIVING POWER STEERING

PURPOSE: A driving control method for electrical short in a motor of a motor driving power steering is provided to reduce steering force applied on a driver by the generation of a subsidiary steering force since the drive of an MDPS motor is maintained in case of electrical short of a power terminal of the MDPS motor. CONSTITUTION: A driving control method for electrical short in a motor of a motor driving power steering comprises followings. The short of the power terminal of an MDPS motor is checked(S1). The drive of the MDPS motor is maintained for the application of the power on the MDPS motor(S2). The warning lamp for informing a driver of troubles due to the short circuit of the MDPS motor is turned on(S3). The steering force is provided through the MDPS motor which is short-circuited for a fail-safe function(S4). Subsidiary steering force is generated to reduce the driver's steering force in the fail-safe drive step.
