PURPOSE: A display device which has a touch detection function and an electronic device using the same are provided to perform a touch detection process while suppressing influences of display operation by maintaining a fixed voltage level of a pixel signal line during a touch detection period. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixel signal lines respectively transmits a display pixel signal. A pixel signal line driving part applies the pixel signal to each pixel signal line. A display device respectively performs a display process based on the pixel signal. A touch detection electrode respectively outputs a detection signal(Vdet) based on capacitance variations generated from a nearby external object. A touch detection part detects a touch based on the detection signal during a touch detection period(Pt) which is different from a display period for operating the display device. A pixel signal line driving part maintains a fixed voltage level of each pixel signal line during the touch detection period.
