PURPOSE: A remote control method and apparatus thereof are provided to promote the convenience of a user by comparing the identification of a message with the identification of a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal receives a message including the identification of a telephone number storage protocol(403). In case a remote telephone number storage function is activated, the portable terminal compares the identification of the portable terminal with the identification of the message(409~413). The portable terminal stores one or more information related to a telephone number and the telephone number of the message(415).
