The installation has a space (2) arranged between a cutting tool (3) and a measuring sensor (8) i.e. laser optical sensor, for receiving a part (1) to be cut. The measuring sensor is oriented toward the space. A displacement unit displaces the cutting tool in a removal or connection direction of the measuring sensor, where the cutting tool is designed as a milling pin. The measuring sensor is arranged on an axis parallel to a displacement direction. A driving unit is designed as an information processing system and/or microprocessor for driving the displacement unit and the cutting tool. An independent claim is also included for a method of cutting of part using an installation.
