The device has a plate (1) sliding along a cane (2) that is provided with a handle (4) and an elbow holder (3). The plate carries the handle or the elbow holder at an end. The handle or the elbow holder located at the end of the plate slides and immobilizes along the plate so as to adapt the morphology of the user. The plate is located at right or left sides of the cane through rotation or through inversion so as to be utilized by right-handed or left handed users.
