<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injury preventing member for an automatic valve which can prevent fingers from being pinched during inspection. <P>SOLUTION: The injury preventing member for an automatic valve includes a first cover 10 comprising a first plate-like member 11, on which visual identification parts 12 are formed, through which the status of the opposite side of the surface of the first plate-like member 11 can be visually identified without allowing a human finger to pass through. The distance L10 between both ends 11e and 11f of the first plate-like member, which approach each other by bending the first plate-like member 11 so as to surround a first virtual axis line 18 being spaced apart and extending in parallel to the first plate-like member 11, is smaller than the maximum distance D between the outer surfaces of side walls 55s existing on both sides of the opening 55ha of the automatic valve, when an external force is not applied.
