摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of acquiring three-dimensional (3D) surface data of an object scene such as an intra-oral cavity. <P>SOLUTION: A three-dimensional imaging apparatus is positioned to acquire 3D data regarding a measuring view field. The three-dimensional imaging apparatus is translated while maintaining directional view of the object scene. The three-dimensional apparatus acquires the 3D data of the translated measuring view field. The data are registered into the 3D data for a start point in the object scene. The 3D data of the positioned and translated measuring view field prescribe a backbone 3D data set. The three-dimensional imaging apparatus is positioned so that the measuring view filed includes a second part of the directional view of the object scene, and acquires the 3D data overlapping part of the backbone 3D data set in the measuring view field.
