SEALING DEVICE FOR ENGINE TRANSMISSION CASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device for an engine transmission case which dispenses with the exchange of a collar.

SOLUTION: The sealing device for the engine transmission case is configured so that: a rotary transmission shaft 2 is inserted into the transmission case 1; an inner transmission ring 4 is fitted to the outer periphery of the rotary transmission shaft 2 in the transmission case 1; a transmission shaft inserting hole 5 is perforated on the case wall 3 of the transmission case 1; the rotary transmission shaft 2 is projected to the outside of the transmission case 1 through the transmission shaft inserting hole 5; an outer part transmission ring 7 is fitted to the outer periphery of the projected part 6 of the rotary transmission shaft 2 at the outside of the transmission case 1; the collar 8 is fitted to the outer periphery of the rotary transmission shaft 2 in the transmission shaft inserting hole 5; an oil seal 9 is fitted to the inner periphery of the transmission shaft inserting hole 5; and the oil seal 9 abuts on the outer peripheral surface 8a of the collar 8. In the sealing device for the engine transmission case, a nitriding proceeding layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface 8a of the collar 8.
