<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control apparatus capable of securing rough-road traveling performance while restraining performance degradation and degradation of durability due to temperature rises of an electric motor and an inverter during rough-road traveling. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle control apparatus includes: an engine 2 and an electric motor 9 functioning as power sources; an electric generator 6 driven and rotated with the engine 2; an off-road travel selection switch 81 and a low speed four-wheel travel selection switch 82 operable by a driver for selection of travel associated with engine drive; and a power distribution mechanism 7 coupling a sun gear 18 with the electric generator 6, a carrier 21 with the engine 2, and a ring gear 19 with the electric motor 9. The control apparatus lowers a rotation speed Nmg1 of the electric generator 6 as compared with a non-operation time when the off-road travel selection switch 81 or the low speed four-wheel travel selection switch 82 is not operated, while maintaining an output state of the engine 2 depending on a signal from the off-road travel selection switch 81 or the low speed four-wheel travel selection switch 82 (S4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
