PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash lamp which is suitable for irradiating light upon a target object which is shaped like a disc and which, even when the luminance of a light-emitting region in an electrode periphery is reduced by blackening of the inner surface of an arc tube due to electrode sputtering at the end of life, has its effective light-emitting region unaffected and maintains a high degree of uniformity.
SOLUTION: An electrode tip position is separated from an effective light-emitting region for at least the length of a region which is assumed to be internally blackened. In other words, the end parts of an arc tube of the lamp disposed continuously at both ends of the effective light-emitting part are perpendicularly bent in the same direction with respect to the effective light-emitting part and are extended by an amount equal to the length described above. Since the inside electrode tip position is pulled back by that amount toward the outer end side of the arc tube, a discharge space around the electrode tip will not cover the effective light-emitting part.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
