A vibration detection device capable of detecting large amplitude vibration is provided. The vibration detection device comprises a yoke (8), a vibration system (10a), a case (1), and a sealing member (4). The vibration system (10a) is provided with a pole (10), a skin-contact plate (2), a coil (5), and bushes (11). The skin-contact plate (2) and the coil (5) are mounted on the ends of the pole (10), and the bushes (11) are provided therebetween. The sealing member (4) is formed of a high-polymer material having acoustic impedance substantially equal to that of the soft tissue of the human body. In a state in which at least a part of the vibration detecting surface (3) of the skin-contact plate (2) is exposed, the yoke (8) and the pole (10) are contained within the case (1).
