BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a display device with the same are provided to make the number of light sources smaller than the number of edge type backlight assemblies. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(30) includes at least one chamfered corner part. Light source units(10,20) are adjacent to light incident surfaces(32,35). The light guide plate includes a first side connected to the light incident surfaces. A part of the first side with the same width as the thickness of the light guide plate is eliminated. A driving unit provides a driving signal to a display panel. The driving unit provides power to the light source unit.
