[Also in Division HI] A modulator comprising a point-contact diode 4 mounted in a waveguide is characterized in that means are provided for moving the diode and adjusting the impedance at the position of the diode. The diode 4 is plugged into the waveguide 1 through a bore 3, and the upper side of the waveguide is provided with a bore 2 lined with an insulating sleeve 10. A bush 12 within the bore 2 is provided with a bore 12b which accommodates a pin 4b of the diode 4 and constitutes a stub which is adjustable in dependence on the penetration of the diode into the waveguide.</p> |
