<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the reliability of a thin film transistor in a display region of an active matrix organic EL display device. <P>SOLUTION: An active matrix organic EL display device includes a display region having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, and a peripheral region having a driver circuit. The pixel of the active matrix organic EL display device includes a first transistor of a bottom gate type, a cathode electrode, an anode electrode, and an organic EL layer provided between the cathode electrode and the anode electrode. The driver circuit includes a second transistor of a bottom gate type and a back gate electrode provided on the second transistor.
