<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of automatically collecting failure information and certainly storing the failure information, when a failure occurs in the information processor. <P>SOLUTION: An information processor 8 includes: a CPU 1 for executing software; a watch dog timer 2 for monitoring software operation; a hardware monitoring device 4 for monitoring a hardware state; an LSI for failure information management 3 for managing the monitoring result; and a non-volatile memory 6 for storing failure information. The watch dog timer 2 notifies the CPU 1 of a non-maskable interruption signal to perform a second start, when there is no watch dog toggle within a predetermined time. The CPU 1 collects the failure information from the LSI for failure information management 3. When the collection is completed, a Cold reset is performed for reactivation. When the collection is not completed, a Hot reset is performed for reactivation.
