METHOD FOR ESTIMATING SNR (SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO) IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Disclosed is a method for estimating an SRN in a wireless communication system. The SNR is exactly estimated without a channel estimation process by using preambles that are mutually informed to both sides of the transceiver in the wireless communication system. The power of a transmitted signal is estimated by using the fact that the size of a transmitted preamble is 1 through a predetermined algorithm (?av,new)ofestimatinganSNR,andnoisepoweriscalculatedbyusingtheaverageofabsolutevaluesofthedifferencebetweentworeceivedpreambles,sothattheSNRisestimatedbasedontherelativevariationofthenoisepowerinfixedtransmitpower.TheSNRisexactlyestimatedwithoutachannelestimationprocessbyusingpreamblesthataremutuallyinformedtobothsidesofthetransceiverinthewirelesscommunicationsystem.
