An azimuth propeller (1A) provided with a driving force transmission mechanism for transmitting driving force from a motor (5) to a propeller (3) of a pod (2) using bevel gear units (6, 7) for converting the power transmission direction of a drive shaft, wherein an in-pod bevel gear unit (7) is provided with a tooth contact adjustment mechanism (20) which is provided with an oil pressure cylinder (22) that is operated upon receiving oil pressure supplied from an oil pressure pump (21) installed outside the pod (2), and a thrust collar (23) that is displaced in conjunction with the oil pressure cylinder (22), and presses the back surface of a horizontal-shaft bevel gear (7b) attached to an in-pod horizontal driving shaft (10) by the thrust collar (23).
