PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key for a keyboard instrument whose touch weight can be easily adjusted by changing a weight while using the weight made of materials other than lead.

SOLUTION: The key for the keyboard instrument comprises a swingable key body 2 with a housing hole 2a and a weight plate body 4 detachably attached to the key body 2. The weight plate body 4 includes a plate 11 and a weight 12 formed integrally with the plate 11. The weight 12 is housed in the housing hole 2a of the key body 2 and the plate 11 is detachably fixed to the key body 2.
