<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver electroplating method for environmentally friendly electroplating a mirror bright silver layer on a nickel or nickel alloy substrate. <P>SOLUTION: (a) This invention provides a solution which contains one or more silver ion sources, one or more imide or imide derivatives, and one or more alkali metal nitrates, and does not contain a cyanide.
