<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assistance device which is preferable in preventing contact with another vehicle or an obstacle when performing turnabout driving. <P>SOLUTION: The driving assistance device includes a bird's-eyes image generating unit which generates a bird's-eyes image of the vehicle periphery, a normal track determining unit which determines a forward trajectory that is an expected trajectory in the direction of travel of the vehicle body in its turn made on the basis of a calculated steering angle, a reverse trajectory determining unit which determines a reverse trajectory that is an expected trajectory in the reverse direction of travel of the vehicle body in its turn made on the basis of a steering angle reverse to the calculated steering angle, and an image synthesizing unit which, against the bird's-eyes image of the vehicle periphery, generates a driving assistance bird's-eyes image for monitor display by synthesizing the forward trajectory and the reverse trajectory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
