Provided is a solar cell module wherein the ratio of the total area of solar cell elements occupying the area of the solar cell module is increased, and the strength thereof is also increased. The solar cell module is provided with solar cell strings each of which comprises: a plurality of solar cell elements each of which further comprises a rectangular-shaped first main-face, and a first bus-bar electrode extending along the long-side direction of the first main-face; and wiring materials that connect adjacent solar cell elements with each other along the long-side direction of the first main-faces. The solar cell module is also provided with a rectangular-shaped translucent member arranged approximately parallel to the first main-faces so as to cover the solar cell strings; and a sealing material arranged between the solar cell strings and the translucent member. Each of the plurality of solar cell elements is provided with a silicon substrate comprising: the first main-face; a second main-face located at the back side of the first main-face; a first side-face that connects the first main-face and the second main-face; a second side-face located at the back side of the first side-face, and that connects the first main-face and the second main-face. The first side-face and the second side-face are arranged along the long-side direction of the first main-face, the first side-face has silicon exposed therefrom, and the second side-face is covered with an insulation layer. |
