<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-type engine in which a drive shaft can be prevented from broken. <P>SOLUTION: In the V-type engine 1, a fuel injection pump 6L and a drive shaft 7L, and a fuel injection pump 6R and a drive shaft 7R are assigned on a left cylinder row 22 side and a right cylinder row 22 side while holding a crank shaft 26 in between and disposed side by side orthogonal to the crank shaft 26, and the left fuel injection pump 6L is disposed while being offset on a side away from the left drive shaft 7L in the axial direction of the crank shaft 26 relative to the right fuel injection pump 6R.
