<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electroless-plating capsule-like particles encapsulating water-soluble substances, such as a phase-change substance. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes subjecting surfaces of capsule-like particles encapsulating water-soluble substances to electroless plating in a solvent containing at least one kind selected from a hydrocarbon solvent and a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent and at least one kind selected from an alcohol solvent and an ether solvent, while in the presence of a metal precursor and an organic acid-based reducing agent.
