<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary impact tool in which the breakage of an output shaft is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In an impact wrench 1, the output shaft 72 of an anvil 7 has a fitted portion 72a to be fitted into a fitting hole 82 of a socket 8. In the output shaft 72, a first pin hole 72c is formed through which a pin 73 is inserted to hold the fitted portion 72a fitted into the fitting hole 82.
