The present invention provides a light emitting device which includes a base and a light emitting diode which is inversely installed above the base. Wherein, the light emitting diode includes a buffer layer and a light emitting diode core above the buffer layer. The buffer layer has a plurality of bumps with pyramid complementary structures on the light output surface of the light emitting diode. Correspondingly, a method for manufacturing a light emitting device is also provided, which includes the following steps: providing a substrate; forming a plurality of pyramid structures on the substrate; forming a buffer layer, a n-type semiconductor layer, an active layer, a p-type semiconductor layer and a contact layer in sequence on the substrate with pyramid structures; forming an opening with a depth at least from the contact layer to the top of the n-type semiconductor layer; forming a first electrode on the contact layer and forming a second electrode at the bottom of the opening; removing the substrate. The present invention relates to a light emitting device with higher light extraction efficiency and provides a simpler method for manufacturing the light emitting diode. |
