The machine (10) has a compressor (12) and a turbine (14) arranged on a shaft (18), which is connected with an electrical generator (16) for generating electrical energy to drive the generator. The electrical generator is arranged on the shaft between the compressor and turbine. A combustion chamber (26) i.e. annular combustion chamber, is arranged divert-side behind the compressor and before the turbine. The shaft is rotatably supported at two positions. The shaft is supported between the compressor and generator and between the generator and the turbine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor car comprising wheels (2) a method for operating an electric car.
