PURPOSE: A dielectric ceramic and a multi-layer ceramic capacitor are provided to extend lifetime by containing a specific amount of BaZrO3, R, Mg, Mn, Si, a first particle(particle size of 0.7micro meter or greater), and a second particle(particle size of 0.6micro meter or greater). CONSTITUTION: A dielectric ceramic contains a composition marked as 100(BaTiO3+aBaZrO3)+bR+cMg+dMnx+eSi. R indicates more than one element which is selected from a group including Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, and Ho. x indicates a positive number which is determined by valence of Mn. Each a, b, c, d, and e satisfies the following conditions: 0<=a<=0.2, 8.0<=b<=12.0, 1.0<=c<=10.0, 0.1<=d<=3.0 and 1.0<=e<=10.0. The dielectric ceramic includes a first particle which has an average particle diameter(Aave) of 0.8micro meter<=Aave<=2.0micro meter and a second particle which has an average particle diameter(Bave) of 0.1micro meter<=Bave<=0.5micro meter. A multi-layer ceramic capacitor comprises dielectric layers(6a-6g) and ceramic sintered bodies(1). The dielectric layer is composed of the dielectric ceramics.
