<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of homogeneous light emission by solving the problem of poor coating caused by a partition wall when an organic light-emitting medium layer represented by a hole transportation layer and an organic light-emitting layer is formed on a substrate by a letterpress printing method. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element comprises: a substrate; a first electrode provided on one surface of the substrate; partition walls including photosensitive resin having an insulation property, which are located at the corresponding positions with the first electrodes on the same plane for sectioning pixels in a rectangular manner; an organic light-emitting medium layer formed by a letterpress printing method in a pixel region sectioned by the partition walls; and a second electrode covering the organic light-emitting medium layer. The height of the partition wall in parallel to a printing direction of the organic light-emitting medium layer among the partition walls in two directions that section the pixels in a rectangular manner is larger than the height of the partition wall that is perpendicular thereto, and the organic light-emitting medium layer is sectioned by the higher partition wall and crosses over the lower partition wall. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
