<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission that achieves more efficient back travelling configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission 10 has a dual sun planetary gear wheel device including: a first sun gear 22 engaging with a set of planetary gears 24 and attached to a first shaft 20; a second sun gear 34 engaging with two sets of planetary gears 26 and attached to a second shaft 38; a carrier 28 to which the former one set of planetary gears and the former two sets of planetary gears are rotatably attached; a first advancement gear 30 connected to and driven by the carrier; a hydrostatic-type unit 12 driven by the first advancement gear; a driving gear that is the driving gear 36 driven by the hydrostatic-type unit and attached to the second shaft to rotate along with the second sun gear; and a shift mechanism 40 that can selectively engage with either the first advancement gear to drive a vehicle in an advancement direction or the second sun gear to drive the vehicle in a back direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
