The technical solution relates to medicine, and specifically to dental instruments, and can be used for calibrating gutta-percha pins in the obturation of root canals in a tooth. The technical result of the claimed technical solution is an increase in the quality of the calibrated gutta-percha pin and consequently in the quality of the treatment, and a reduction in the time expended on calibrating the pin and treating the root canal of the tooth. The technical result is achieved in that a device for calibrating gutta-percha pins, the device comprising a body with calibrating openings arranged along the length and equipped with diameter indicators and with a length scale having a millimetre division, is additionally equipped with a scalpel in the form of a plate of U-shaped cross section which is spring-loaded at the end and has ledges bent inwards and at an angle of 45° at maximum to a base, said plate being formed from stainless spring steel and being mounted by the ledges in L-shaped grooves in the lower part of the body so as to be displaceable along the length of said body, wherein right-angled openings are formed on the wall of the scalpel plate, said openings being placed uniformly along the length of the plate and consequently along the calibrating openings with the cutting edge on one side. Furthermore, the technical result is achieved in that the ledges of the scalpel plate of U-shaped cross section are bent inwards and have a bend along the centre of the length thereof to the base of the body. Furthermore, the technical result is achieved in that the ledges of the scalpel plate of U-shaped cross section are bent inwards, and the cutting edge is arranged on a post of L-shaped cross section on one side of the opening, said post being arranged at an angle of 45° at maximum to the base of the body. |
