<p>An endoscope insertion-assisting system (3) comprises: a tube-body (31) which is arranged along an insertion section (11) of an endoscope (4) which is inserted inside an object of examination; a variable-hardness member (42), the hardness of which changes due to temperature, and which can vary the shape retention of the tube-body (31); a medium which circulates inside the tube-body (31), and which can alter the temperature of the variable-hardness member (42); a temperature adjustment unit (54) which adjusts the temperature of the medium; an operation unit (32) which prompts the shape retention of the tube-body (31) to be a soft state or a hard state; and a control unit (51) which estimates the shape retention of the tube-body (31), and adjusts the temperature of the medium and controls the hardness of the variable-hardness member (42) so that the tube-body (31) is in the soft state or the hard state, on the basis of the direction of the operation unit (32).</p> |
