The method involves detecting inclination of disk fitting (3) and stopping circulation of supply air flow in a vehicle cabin, where the amount of circulating air is limited to a maximum valve with minimum valve of fresh air. Vehicle and/or environmental parameters are measured when starting the method. Total energy consumed from a disk heater for heating the supply air flow is decreased (6) by adjusting the supply air and heating power (4) of the disk heater based on the measured vehicle and/or environment parameters.
