PURPOSE: A glycan epitoe which is overexpressed in human nerve stem cells, nerve precursor cells, and glioblastoma is provided to develop a therapeutic agent for brain tumor as molecular target. CONSTITUTION: A glycan epitope for detecting undifferentiated human nerve stem cells, nerve precursor cells or glioblastoma. The glycan epitope is glucose-alpha-1,4-glucose, or Glucose-alpha1,4-GlcNAc. A method for detecting undifferentiated human nerve stem cell, nerve precursor cell or glioblastoma comprises: a step of preparing a sample including undifferentiated human nerve stem cell, nerve precursor cell or glioblastoma; and a step of detecting and isolating cells which expresses glycan epitope on the cell surface.
