PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting supplying of a low current in back light unit are provided to prevent an IC for driving a backlight from being shot down by pulling up a driving current and supplying it to the IC for driving the backlight. CONSTITUTION: An inverter IC(104) receives a driving voltage from a back light driving IC and changes a driving current to a suitable level. The inverter IC supplies a driving current to the back light driving IC. A low current protection unit(106) pulls up a driving current outputted from the inverter IC and supplies it to the back light driving IC when the operation of the inverter IC is operated under low dimming.
