SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell which is relatively inexpensive and at the same time more robust than conventional ones.

SOLUTION: An SOFC cell includes: a metallic support material; an active anode layer comprising a good hydrocarbon cracking catalyst; an electrolyte layer; an active cathode layer; and a transition layer to a cathode collector plate. The SOFC cell is provided with means for suppressing diffusion between the metallic support material and the active anode layer.
