<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately notify a user of a state of communication between a Web server outside an MFP and the MFP in an information processing system of a configuration where a Web server function inside the MFP is present so as to mediate a Web browser of the MFP and the Web server outside the MFP, in particular, to appropriately notify a user of a communication protocol such as HTTP or HTTPS between the Web server outside the MFP and the MFP and server certificate information during HTTPS communication. <P>SOLUTION: A Web server function inside an MFP notifies a Web browser of a communication protocol and server certificate information during HTTPS communication so as to mediate a Web browser of the MFP and a Web server outside the MFP.
