DISPLAY DEVICE AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unexpected stop of reproduction of DVD and the like in a display device when the DVD and the like are viewed by a Source unit by using multiple screen display such as two screen display, to construct a CEC network the whole of which is not affected by a fault of one unit although all units are directly connected on the CEC network when CEC communication control is performed and to keep compatibility with a conventional unit.

SOLUTION: A CEC line is separated at every HDMI connector and independent CEC network is constructed. A CEC control unit managing all the separated CEC lines is arranged. CEC messages are transferred onto the independent CEC networks as needed.
