<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that a terminal can not be unlocked in the case that communication key data is lost in a data transfer device in a state that the terminal is locked and only communication key data is transferred. <P>SOLUTION: At start-up of a terminal, whether a user password and key data are allocated to the terminal is checked, and user authentication using the user password and the key data is performed. When any one of the user password and the key data is not allocated, or when the user authentication fails N times or more consecutively, all of the user password, the key data, and communication key data for terminal authentication are deleted in the terminal.
