<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouse that is easy to use. <P>SOLUTION: A computer pointing device is a device including: a base part having a bottom plane that slides over a working surface; a ridge-shaped part which substantially projects upward from the base part and has a thumb engagement surface on a first side plane of the ridge-shaped part; and the engagement surface of at least one forefinger tip and/or middle finger tip on a second side plane of the ridge-shaped part facing the first side plane. A keyboard has an arrangement configuration obtained by changing functions of a key of an expanded blank bar or a truncated blank bar, or a key with no blank bar, that is, can change external appearances in accordance with the remapping of the key to a sensor on the pointing device. The keyboard has a virtual screen display that may be made translucent by activating the sensor on the pointing device.
