<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content playback device that allows a user to view AV content without lack of audio information and without a special procedure even if noise occurred during viewing of the AV content. <P>SOLUTION: A content playback device (illustrated as a mobile information terminal 1) comprises: a caption display control unit 13a that performs control for superimposing caption content on video and allowing a display unit 19 to display them; and a surrounding sound detection unit (microphone 16, control unit 13) that detects surrounding sound of the mobile information terminal 1 excluding or including audio output from an audio output unit (speaker 22). The caption display control unit 13a has an automatic control unit 13b that allows display of caption content while the surrounding sound is higher than a threshold value. When the threshold value is exceeded, the automatic control unit 13b starts display from past caption content before the time point of the excess by a predetermined time or a predetermined number of caption display processing units and until caption content corresponding to the current audio can be displayed, allows display of caption content at a predetermined display speed higher than a normal display speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
