A device for manufacturing a web consisting of at least three layers, wherein one of the layers is a support layer being heavier than any other layer of the web, comprises a first forming section (Fl) adapted to form a first partial layer (p1) of the support layer, a second forming section (F2) adapted to form a second partial layer (p2) of the support layer, and a joining section (Jl) for joining the first partial layer and the second partial layer (p2) both being made from stock having identical composition together, so as to form a material-homogeneous support layer.
