<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that, since a non-rotating pressure pad 70 and a rotating pressure roller 42 are simultaneously pressurized, the pressure pad 70 is deteriorated and then, failures, such as a torque increase and an electrification failure, due to rubbing occur when the pressure roller 42 is rotated without paper passing for rising the temperature of the pressure roller 42. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing unit 40 includes: a fixing roller 41 which supplies heat to the recording paper 100 having a developer image and fixes the developer image; a fixing belt 46 which is pressurized in the direction of the fixing roller 41 and holds and transports the recording paper 100 together with the fixing roller 41; a pressure roller 42 which pressurizes the fixing belt 46 in the direction of the fixing roller 41; and a pressure pad 70 which pressurizes the fixing belt 46 in the direction of the fixing roller 41, and has a release mechanism 80 which can switch whether or not the pressure roller 42 and the pressure pad 70 are pressurized in the direction of the fixing roller 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
