<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intraocular lens simulation device and a method which enable a patient to perceive and experience effects and the like of a multifocal intraocular lens without undergoing surgery for insertion of a multifocal intraocular lens. <P>SOLUTION: The intraocular lens simulation device has a main afocal optical system, test lens support means housing a prescribed test intraocular lens, and a front optical system having a function of reducing the diameter of an incident on-axis luminous flux and then emitting the luminous flux toward the test intraocular lens. An observer can observe an observation object from behind the main afocal optical system through the front optical system, the test intraocular lens, and the main afocal optical system. The test lens support means is disposed in a position having a conjugate relation with the eyes of the observer. A resultant angular magnification of an entire system including the front optical system and the main afocal optical system is approximately one, and the simulation device satisfies a relation 0.77<ϕ2/ϕ1<0.89, where ϕ1 is the diameter of the on-axis luminous flux incident on the front optical system, and ϕ2 is the diameter of the on-axis luminous flux incident on the test intraocular lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
