<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder liner which allows for the preservation of bonding force with a cylinder block while being hard to follow the deformation of the cylinder block, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to the cylinder liner 2 whose outer peripheral surface 4 has a large number of protrusions 5 formed thereon, there are some outer peripheral surficial parts 4A along the circumferential direction, wherein there are no existent protrusions, or there are some outer peripheral surficial parts along the circumferential direction, wherein the height of the protrusions 5 is lower than the height of the protrusions in other outer peripheral surficial parts. In the method of manufacturing the cylinder liner 2 by way of centrifugal casting process, the protrusions on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder-like member are subjected to be processed by passing the protrusions while making them in contact with a fixed blade arranged in a die or outside the die in a process wherein the cylinder-like member whose outer peripheral surface is provided with a large number of protrusions formed thereon is pulled out from the die after the centrifugal casting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
