The unit has a pump rotor (22) eccentrically rotated in a recess (36) of an intermediate plate (34) and comprising periphery grooves. A pumping chamber (14) is limited by a suction plate (40) in axial direction, and a push plate is limited in radial direction by the intermediate plate. A radial inner recess (35) and a radial outer recess (33) are interconnected by a channel in the push plate during pumping between the recesses for pressure equalization, where the inner and outer recesses are in fluid connection with an outlet of the unit.
