The method involves changing electric current through an electromagnet from an actual mode into a problem rectifying mode. The electric current is changed in the rectifying mode relative to the actual mode in pulses. The current flow is switched into the rectifying mode during malfunction detection and when jam of a control piston of a hydraulic valve is identified as error. The jam of the piston is detected by a position sensor at the valve or indirectly by evaluation of signals of other sensors. Continuous or sudden current increase is performed in the rectifying mode.
