<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet capable of continuously discharging water during an optimum time without requiring a user to conduct an extra operation. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic faucet 2 comprises: a discharge port for discharging supplied water; an object detection sensor 8 for detecting the existence of an object near the discharge port; a mode switching operation part 51 capable of switching between an automatic discharge mode in which water can be discharged from the discharge port based on the detection state of the object detection sensor 8 and a continuous discharge mode in which water can be discharged from the discharge port regardless of the detection state of the object detection sensor 8; and a control part for controlling water discharge and stop operation based on the discharge mode set by the mode switching operation part and the detection state of the object detection sensor. The control part is provided with extension means which restores the continuous discharge mode to the automatic discharge mode after a prescribed time elapsed since the time point at which the automatic discharge mode is switched to the continuous discharge mode by the mode switching operation part, while extending the prescribed time based on the detection state of the object detection sensor 8 in the continuous discharge mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
