<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which prevents breakage of a drive circuit and a fuse by reducing current in a motor for driving a lens when no lens movement is detected though a zoom button is depressed, as for an electronic camera. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic camera particularly needs excessive current for driving a motor when temperature near the motor is low or when a power supply voltage is low. This further results in breakage of a drive circuit and a fuse. Thus, the temperature near the motor is detected, and then current in the motor for driving a lens is reduced as the temperature becomes low.
