<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abnormal noise such as clattering noise from being generated between a housing and a rack gear shaft even when an engine emitting radiant heat exists near a steering operation device and to maintain an excellent feeling for steering operation to a steering wheel to move the rack gear shaft in an axis direction. <P>SOLUTION: The steering operation device for a vehicle includes: a housing 22 of pipe shape the axis center 20 of which extends in a direction of a width of a vehicle 2 and which is supported on the vehicle 2 side by a supporting tool 21; a rack gear shaft 24 fitted to an inner hole 23 of the housing 22 so as to be capable of moving A in the axis direction and linked with the steering handle 16 in an interlocking manner with each of the end parts in the axis direction linked to a steering wheel 13, respectively; and a resin bush 36 interposed between an inner peripheral surface of the inner hole 23 of the housing 22 and an inner peripheral surface of the rack gear shaft 24 on the axis center 20.
