<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reproducibility of a gray color which is a monochromatic intermediate gradation when performing printout using a plurality of printers by a color split function. <P>SOLUTION: A print data output device extracts all objects included in respective pages of original data, discriminates color information related to the respective objects, and discriminates whether or not there is a gray area in the objects. Then, halftone pattern information for reproducing a gray gradation value of the gray area is read from storage means on the basis of the discrimination result, and a halftone pattern is generated on the basis of the read halftone pattern information. Print data are generated by applying the halftone pattern generated in such a manner to the gray area, and then the print data are distributed and outputted to a color printer and a monochromatic printer. Further, for the print data to the color printer, the halftone pattern is applied only to a K plate and the gray area is reproduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
